Κάποτε ένας πιλότος καθώς πετούσε πάνω από την έρημο της Σαχάρας συνειδητοποίησε ότι το αεροπλάνο του είχε βλάβη στον κινητήρα. Έτσι, αναγκάστηκε να προσγειωθεί για να το επισκευάσει και τότε συνάντησε τον Μικρό Πρίγκιπα, ένα αγόρι με κατάξανθα μαλλιά, παράξενα ρούχα και σοβαρό βλέμμα. Με τον καιρό ο πιλότος έμαθε πως το παιδί είχε έρθει από τον μικροσκοπικό αστεροειδή Β612, όπου ζούσε παρέα με ένα τριαντάφυλλο και τρία ηφαίστεια. Αλλά, το λουλούδι του Μικρού Πρίγκιπα ήταν δύστροπο, και γι’ αυτό το αγόρι αποφάσισε να ταξιδέψει σε άλλους πλανήτες, για να ανακαλύψει τι είναι σημαντικό στη ζωή. Όταν έφτασε στη Γη, ένιωθε περισσότερο μόνος από ποτέ. Όμως, γνώρισε μια αλεπού, που την εξημέρωσε και έγιναν φίλοι. Κι εκείνη του έμαθε πως μόνο με την καρδιά μπορούμε να δούμε σωστά, γιατί ό,τι είναι ουσιαστικό, είναι αόρατο στα μάτια.
